1.Selection of Microorganisms:
Algae: Microalgae like Spirulina and Chlorella are rich in proteins, vitamins, and minerals.
Fungi: Filamentous fungi (e.g., Aspergillus oryzae, Fusarium venenatum) known for their high protein content.
Yeast: Saccharomyces cerevisiae, widely used due to rapid growth and high protein yield.
2.Preparation of Substrate
Collect food waste from various sources (households, restaurants, food processing industries).
Pre-treat the food waste to remove contaminants and increase digestibility (mechanical shredding).
